December Details - Week 1

Volunteers Needed - I have a couple of volunteers for Christmas Craft Day tomorrow, but if you still would like to volunteer, we have a spot for you!! We will begin at 9:00. Hope to see you then!

Paper Towel/Toilet Paper Tubes: We still are in need of these items for one of our ornament projects. Please send with your child TOMORROW - December 2!

Angel Tree: Our class is responsible for an 8 year old girl who would like dress up items, books, and needs a coat (size 8), hat, and gloves. Right now we have about $50.00. We will accept donations through next week. You are welcome to send money, one of the above items, or a gift that you think she would like!

Book Exchange: I am sending in book orders TOMORROW, so if you would still like to order your book for the upcoming exchange, please send your order and money to school or complete your order online. Remember: Boys bring a wrapped book for a boy, Girls bring a wrapped book for a girl, $5.00 limit.

Gingerbread Building - Math & Social Studies all in one!
Both of my math classes will be participating in a gingerbread building project the week of December 12 - 16. We will be needing the following supplies. If you are able to donate something, please send it to school with your child by Friday, December 9, so I can plan accordingly.

Each class will need:
Canned frosting: 4 cans
Plastic knives (20)
Graham Crackers
M&Ms
Small Marshmallows
Life Savers/Gummi Savers
Small Candy Canes
Pull apart Twizzlers
Any candy that would be fun to decorate with!

The students will be planning their house, "buying" the supplies (to practice adding money), decorating their houses, and working within a budget. We will be taking pictures of their finished houses, and of course, eating the finished product! Items will be priced based on supply and demand. :)

Reading Goals:
The deadline is fast approaching for the 2nd nine weeks. All students should have 6 points by tomorrow, December 2. The deadline for this quarter is Friday, December 16. Likewise, the December deadline for Book It is December 16. Students only need to read 2 points this month to get their Book It pizza because we are only here 2 weeks!
